The Sarasota area has a lot to offer from local restaurants to local museums, such as the Ringling museum. And a place that is a must see is Anna Maria Island.

I play soccer every Saturday morning in Lakewood Ranch. I have Salsa every Tuesday evening at 8pm at Joyland.
Thanks to USF, we get free tickets to movies. So every so often during the semester we get to go to local theaters and just have fun as a group.
There are many opportunities to work at the Sarasota-Manatee area. I myself as a biomedical science major work at the local urgent cares.
If you're looking to stay active, the beaches are like 15 minutes away and the nature preserves in the state parks are great ways to like be out in nature and be active.
I really like going to Lido Beach. It's a really fun and relaxing place for me and I also really like going to the university Mall.
Few things that you can do on the Sarasota-Manatee area, I would say UTC or the university town center. It's a really nice hangout space there. Whether you want to go in the outdoor malls or the indoor mall or just go eat.
